Signature Research Inc. has been training practitioners/facilitators since 1979 and offers certification in accordance with the ACCT practitioner standards that were released in 2007. We offer Level I, Level II, and Challenge Course Manager (CCM) certifications. Certification can also be achieved by those that have practitioner experience by “Challenging-In”.
Levels:
Level I is an entry level certification that requires no previous experience. This certification is good for one year and signifies that the practitioner can deliver routine programming and is proficient in core technical skills.
To complete Level I training you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years or older
- Complete 40 hours of training
- Pass a written and practical skills test
Level II is an intermediate Level of certification and is good for 3 years. You need a solid base of program delivery experience prior to taking a Level II training course. Level II practitioners will possess all of the skills of Level I with additional specialty skills and knowledge and also provide leadership to less experienced staff.
To complete Level II training you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have a Level I certification
- Have a current portfolio documenting 200 hours of facilitation experience
- Complete the 40 hour Level II training
- Pass a written and practical skills test
Challenge Course Manager (CCM) is for practitioners that possess a Level II certification and are seeking management training to supervise others and perform administrative duties. Every challenge course must have a Challenge Course Manager BUT please understand that it is not necessary that a company has a "Certified" Challenge Course Manager.
To complete CCM training you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 21 years or older
- Possess a Level II certification
- Have a current portfolio documenting 500 hours of facilitation experience
- Complete 30 hours of training of which 16 are specific to challenge course management
- Pass a written and practical skills test
An alternative way to be certified by Signature Research Inc. in accordance to the ACCT standards is to
“challenge in”. A person that “challenges in” must have
prior experience and training.
